The Berthoud Bugle: A Mother's Love

Volume 2026: Edition 48

Hello everyone. We thank you for your love and support for our Church and our family. Please continue to pray for our church, our pastor and his leadership, and our church leaders that we may continue to share the word of God. We are so blessed and grateful for the growth in our church, the ability to share our messages and newsletters with our viewers, and the strengthening of our church family and viewers as a congregation and as individuals. We strive to bring encouragement and connection through this newsletter, which we will continue to post every 1st of the month. So, we hope you will continue to learn and grow in God's word with us.

Happy May everyone.

Just in case anyone forgot, today is Mother’s Day.

To all the moms out there,

May God fill your hearts with peace and joy!

In a world where family values are devalued and the world wants women to believe they can have everyone eating out of the palm of their hands, they don’t need to worry about starting a family and having children, it’s a “get all you can while you’re young” mentality.

I want to thank the women who said “NO !” Who knew they could have a family and a career at the same time, you knew it was gonna take a lot of work, but you were willing to sacrifice everything to have that family.

Yes, some moms have had to find ways to survive alone due to circumstances

but they still do their best.

Thank you!

Thank you for the child or children you were blessed to help bring to this world. I know that you have sleepless nights, constant worries, hardships, everyday challenges and stress trying to bring you down, and yet you fight through the daily battles every single day.

Thank you and Happy Mother’s Day!

And with that, we go into our food for thought:

Food for thought:

noun

  1. Information or knowledge that is worthy of contemplation.
  2. Anything that provides mental stimulus for thinking.

Just in case you forgot what it meant and why we say it this way :)

Just like how we started off this newsletter with how the world devalues families, this topic is how the world (the devil) is trying to take our minds off our Savior.

This topic has been discussed quite frequently, but it is something that we need to be reminded about all the time, especially now.

Psalm 46:10 NKJV

Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!

If you would read PSALMS chapter 46 in its entirety and take a moment to reflect and relate this to today, you might come to the same conclusion I did…remember that our creator is in control of everything!

Just like this story in MATTHEW :

Matthew 8:22-27 NKJV - Wind and Wave Obey Jesus

Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

The world around us is chaotic. So many stories take us in many directions, as we consume it all on a daily basis through our phones, our social media platforms, our news outlets, in our daily conversations, or listening to the local radio stations. The world wants us in a state of chaos and division. Taking our hearts and minds off God.

Today in our country, we are all dealing with our country at war in the Middle East (Iran)

Our country is in an economic downfall from what looks to be caused by

the war in the Middle East.

Division within our two party system of leadership running our country.

Hate and division all over social media due to the war and economic troubles and party beliefs.

Our government is releasing files on ufo’s and aliens after years of silence.

That’s right, our Government is openly talking about Aliens and ufo’s

(that’s a whole different story)

And topic after topic, hate speech and hate against one another, corruption going on in our individual states and federal government , and what political side is right? And yet, no one is saying “take a deep breath and go to a quiet place and speak and pray to our God.”

The world wants our mind off our creator. Off the one who saved us. We must not let that happen, With all the chaos around us, the chaos can be silenced just as fast as it enters our minds. Ask God to calm your spirit, your thoughts, and soften your heart. Take that deep breath. Go to that silent place and have a conversation with your creator.

Matthew 6:6-13 NKJV -

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors.

And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

In ending;

I have a quote on the wall in our home that I read almost everyday and I would like to share it:

I believe in the sun, even when it is not shining;

in love, even when I am alone;

and in God, even when He is silent.

(Inscription found scratched into a wall in Germany by someone hiding from nazi concentration camps.)
